Our methodology

At Agora Madrid International School we are convinced that a complete education should not be understood as the sum of different areas, but as the result of the global integration of all of them. For this reason, at Agora Madrid, the education given to pupils is global in nature. We are dedicated to preparing citizens of the world, with all the necessary skills to face the professional challenges they may encounter throughout their working lives.

We encourage integration, as all our pupils form a unique community in which every way of thinking has a place, always within the values of respect and education towards other people.

Mission

Our mission is to prepare each of our students to become a global citizen who can shape the world.

Vision

We lead the new generation of international schools to be a local, national and international reference with an educational offer from Pre-school to Baccalaureate, distinguished by high academic performance and personalised attention to each student.

Values

In line with the culture, mission and vision of our school, we equip our students with the skills, abilities and knowledge to be caring, principled, balanced, inquisitive, reflective, critical thinkers, open-minded, knowledgeable, risk-takers and with communication skills, with the aim of ensuring that the acquisition of these values allows them to be socially active and ethically responsible with their local environment and the national and global context in which they are immersed.

Families, Students, Alumni and Teachers

The Agora Madrid International School family is made up of students, families, teachers, alumni and school staff. A community which works every day to achieve a common goal: the happiness and success of our students. The happiness of our students is not only the main objective of our educational project, it is a way of life. That is why good communication and participation between all members of this family is so valuable and necessary.

Families

Families are a very important part of the Agora Madrid community. In order to promote an optimal environment for students, both families and teachers are involved in monitoring and making decisions which may affect the pupil's future. Open dialogue is encouraged, while at the same time taking into account the needs of the pupils' families. We believe that dialogue with families is fundamental to good student learning; therefore, we ensure that families are fully informed about our school's learning and teaching methodology, as well as any decisions that may affect the student's academic and personal progress.

In addition to information about the learning methodology and the pupil's progress, Agora Madrid organises a "Family School" with talks for parents on current topics of interest related to their children's education, such as photo-bullying, alcohol and drugs, or the safe use of the Internet. These talks, given by professional experts in different subjects, form part of the school's commitment to the all-round education of its pupils.

Students

The students at Agora Madrid International School are at the heart of how the school works. Our aim as educators is to maximise their abilities, while helping them in their academic and personal development.

Developing in a national and international, multilingual environment allows them to learn different languages and values and to open their minds in a tolerant and respectful way. The curriculum is supported by sporting activities, music and art so that students develop added value for their present and future.

Moreover, creative thinking is developed from an early age and during all stages of education. They learn to think independently with the help of the new technologies that are so present in the society of information and knowledge in which we live. We want all our students to be successful in the future, whatever they want to do and, most importantly, we want to ensure that they are prepared to do what they want to do.

Teachers

We have a selected teaching staff who are responsible for transmitting their enthusiasm and passion. Each student is an individual and unique being, which is why we offer personalised attention with support programmes that promote motivation, stimulation and self-improvement. We make each pupil the protagonist in this complex process of development.

English is the school's flagship language and for this reason most subjects are taught in English. Teachers teach entirely in English and ensure that pupils also communicate with each other in English. In order to provide the best possible language teaching, we employ teachers who are native English speakers or bilingual, or who have spent long periods of time in English-speaking countries.

Alumni

Agora Madrid International School's former pupils are a clear example of the results obtained after years of hard work, effort and dedication. We are proud to see that their comprehensive preparation has successfully guided them towards their professional and academic future and, above all, that they have grown as people with values such as respect, effort and companionship.
