Our students enjoy a transformative experience at the ISA Youth Leadership Encounter 2025 in Miami

From October 25 to November 1, seven students from Agora Madrid International School travelled to Miami to take part in one of the most inspiring international educational events of the year: the ISA Youth Leadership Encounter 2025, organised by the International Schools Association (ISA). Under the theme “Leadership Across Oceans: Uniting Cultures to Preserve Marine Ecosystems”, young people from around the world gathered to reflect, research and take action on the challenges facing our marine ecosystems.

Purpose-driven research: red coral, monk seal and Posidonia oceanica

During the event, our students developed a project focused on three key marine species: red coral, the monk seal and Posidonia oceánica.

They analysed their current situation, the factors threatening their survival and the conservation strategies needed to protect these natural treasures. This work allowed them to connect science, critical thinking and environmental commitment, fully reflecting the spirit of the IB Learner Profile.

Living, sharing and learning with students from around the world

The encounter in Miami was not only an academic opportunity, but also an enriching human experience. Throughout the week, our students shared activities, workshops and visits with students from Globeducate schools and international schools from various countries.

They explored the local biodiversity, took part in collaborative tasks and experienced interculturality from within, building bonds that transcend borders and strengthening their identity as global citizens.

An event that drives international education

The Youth Leadership Encounter is much more than a programme: it is a platform that inspires young people to become conscious, informed leaders capable of taking action in the face of global challenges.

For Agora Madrid International School, taking part in this initiative means reaffirming our commitment to an international education that combines knowledge, values and action. Our students not only represented the school, but also demonstrated their ability to research, collaborate and lead projects with real impact.

An experience that leaves a mark

Returning to Madrid does not mark the end, but the beginning of new ideas, projects and reflections. Our students come back with a broader view of the world, new friendships and a deeper understanding of the role they can play in protecting the planet.
We are deeply proud of their participation, their effort and the way they represented Agora Madrid International School on such a significant international stage.
