Agora Madrid International School: an international school with 58 nationalities

At Agora Madrid International School, an international school located in Villaviciosa de Odón (Madrid), diversity is not just a feature — it is an essential part of our educational identity.

With students representing 58 different nationalities, our classrooms embody the global spirit of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and our commitment to providing an education that prepares students for the world.

Cultural diversity: an essential part of who we are

Our commitment to an international education is reflected every day in our classrooms, where students from a variety of backgrounds, languages and cultures learn, share and grow together.

This cultural richness fosters empathy, respect and curiosity — values that are at the very heart of Agora Madrid International School.

The IB and international-mindedness from Primary

Recently, our Year 4 pupils carried out an inspiring investigation as part of their Unit of Inquiry in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Their aim was to answer a key question:
What makes us an international school?

To find the answer, the pupils became real researchers, visiting every stage of the school — from 1-year-olds to Year 13 — interviewing students, teachers and staff.

Thanks to their enthusiasm and curiosity, they uncovered a fact that fills us with pride:
At Agora Madrid International School, we represent 58 different nationalities.

This discovery goes far beyond a number — it represents a global community learning together, enriched by the experiences, languages and traditions of each of its members.

A global map within our classrooms

Our Year 4 students have demonstrated the values of the IB Learner Profile: they are curious, reflective, inquiring and empathetic.

Their work led to the creation of an “International Map of Agora Madrid”, awakening a sense of collective pride by recognising the cultural wealth that we share.

With 58 nationalities represented, our school is a true microcosm of the world.
This diversity inspires deeper and more meaningful learning, encouraging tolerance and understanding between cultures.

In our classrooms, you can hear accents from five continents, celebrate festivities from around the globe, and learn to view the world from multiple perspectives.

A global community growing together

We would like to thank our Year 4 pupils for their effort, enthusiasm and commitment to this project.

They have looked beyond borders, discovered the strength of diversity and reminded us that, at Agora Madrid International School, the whole world fits within our classrooms.
