Our History

Agora Madrid International School was founded in 1981, when a group of families and education professionals decided to establish a new school that would respond to the educational challenges of that time.

The school continued to evolve and grow, adapting to a constantly changing global environment, and in 2006 Agora Madrid International School, became part of the highly-renowned Globeducate Group. Joining the Globeducate group has since contributed to the school's success with its high educational standards and international network of more than 55 schools. Globeducate is the result of years of experience in international education, a history that today makes us proud as an institution. A vocation for teaching defines our fundamental values, which are common to all Agora centres.

Rich in history

In 2015, Agora Madrid International School became an IB World School enabling our senior students to follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). The IB is one of the most well-known and well-respected qualifications in the field of international education and is recognised as an entry qualification by the world’s leading universities. The Diploma course is designed to help our senior school students to acquire a breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, whilst helping them to grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.

We are an official music conservatory and teach all stages of education from Preschool to Baccalaureate, including the prestigious Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate® (IB). For the last 2 years, with the aim of being a pioneering creative arts centre, we have been working with Víctor Ullate Roche and Nuria Sánchez, co-director of the project, on the unique International Baccalaureate specialising in Performing Arts.
